Call of Duty: Ghosts will have Women Soldiers in Multiplayer

Watch the official multiplayer trailer:

Mark Rubin, executive producer at Infinity Ward, said that “This is the biggest overhaul of multi-player we’ve done since the original Modern Warfare.” He went on to say that they wanted to “empower the player to customize who they are. In the past, players were “really just [creating] a randomly generated character.” In Ghosts, you’ll be able to select a head, body type, and head gear, among other things, which leads to 20,000 combinations. The most significant addition is that you’ll be able to play as a woman – a first for the series (but not other games in the genre). “Our fan base is huge. We cover such a dramatic range of people who play our game that we wanted to be as inclusive as we possibly could with character customization. And that’s where the idea came from. Why wouldn’t we have a female [option] then?” said Rubin. He also said that the engine had to be re-tooled extensively in order to allow for the customizable characters.

You’ll be able to get Call of Duty: Ghosts on November 5th, 2013 for Windows, PS3, WiiU, and Xbox 360. You’ll also be able to get the game for Xbox One and PS4 at a later date.
