I am a nerd. Always have been and always will be. I started out as a book nerd. From the time I could read, I inhaled books. I was, more often than not, that girl sitting alone at the lunch table reading a book.

When I started high school, my nerd-dom blossomed. I joined the Sci-fi/Fantasy club, and my eyes were opened to the many facets of nerdiness that I had been missing. I started playing DnD and Vampire the Masquerade. I realized that video games existed! (I had never owned a console or really any computer games before. Though I did love playing Rampage when I babysat a boy in the neighborhood.)

And suddenly, in the last four or five years, I started playing tabletop games. Tons and tons of tabletop games. I freaking love them! Just a few of my favorites are: Battlestar Galactica, Betrayal at House on the Hill, Takenoko, Seven Wonders, Small World, Pandemic, Twilight Imperium, and Castle Panic, to name a few.

So here I am, years later. I’m digging deeper and deeper into almost every aspect of geeky-ness. I play in one, sometimes two, weekly RPGs with two different groups. At the very least, I get together with friends once a week to play board games. I attempt to read between work and friends, and sometimes fail miserably. I’m getting into more anime, and I get to play video games here and there. (When the new Dragon Age game comes out, I’m sure no one will see me for at least two weeks).
