Wintersday Comes to Tyria – Christmas Fun in GW2!

I’ve always had a lot of fun with the holiday content in Guild Wars 2, and the Christmas season brought out one of my favorite events in the game world – Wintersday.

Wintersday is an annual celebration for the end of the calendar cycle in Tyria and, much like Christmas here on Earth, it’s spent exchanging gifts and spending time with friends and loved ones to round out the year. Tixx the Toymaker (the world’s version of Santa, basically) also visits the cities, providing lots of fun activities as well as giving toys to all the children of the land. Good times, indeed!

This year, Wintersday was held in Divinity’s Reach (last time I did it, which was 2013, there was stuff in Lion’s Arch for it) and it had plenty of stuff to offer. Personally, I had a lot of fun with the bell choir game (sort of like Dance Dance Revolution), the snowball fight PvP matches, and the jumping puzzle, but there’s also a dungeon of sorts, lots of special items to collect, a really neat item called Winter’s Presence you can earn if you have the willpower to do it, and more. This video, which goes on for over 70 minutes, only showcases a bit of what there is, so while you’ll get a good idea of what’s out there, the best thing to do is to try it out for yourself! 🙂

This special feature of the Wintersday content will be the last New Tyrian Adventures video of 2015. I figured it was a nice way to round out the year, and I think it sets the stage for more fun in the coming year. I included a special personal message in the beginning to thank you all for your support with the show and your great feedback, and I will always appreciate it. 🙂

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this end-of-the-year treat from the world of GW2, and do stick around – more fun is on the horizon both to close out this year and ring in 2016!
