There are plenty of gift guides out there for men and women… but what happens when your lady doesn’t want a new blender? You turn to me for advice of course!
Here is my official guide to awesome geeky presents to give your gaming lady.
You know what your lady wants: Barbie’s Magic Dream Castle 17 1/2!
Just kidding. Here’s what she really wants:
If she’s into swords
The next chapter in the highly anticipated Elder Scrolls saga, Skyrim reimagines and revolutionizes the open-world fantasy epic, bringing to life a complete virtual world open for you to explore any way you choose.
If she loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Lollipop Chainsaw is the UN-deadly story of sweet and killer zombie-hunter Juliet Starling and her quest to uncover the root of a colossal zombie outbreak. With her wickedly awesome chainsaw in hand, Juliet slices, dices and splits her way through hordes of the undead.
This game is zany and fan-servicy but it really reminded me of the original idea behind Buffy: a ditzy cheerleader who has to kill monsters.
If she’s into dubstep
Borderlands 2, sequel to the critically acclaimed and best selling role-playing-shooter hybrid, once again delivers its unique flavor, characters and addictive nonstop collaborative loot-shoot gameplay.
If she’s a feminist and/or into big spaceships
Mass Effect 3 or the Mass Effect Trilogy
Not everyone will survive. An ancient alien race, known only as “Reapers,” has launched an all-out invasion leaving nothing but a trail of destruction in their wake. Earth has been taken, the galaxy is on the verge of total annihilation, and you are the only one who can stop them.
The trilogy contains all three games. Read what we think about Mass Effect 2 [EIC’s note: one of my favorite games of all time, just get the trilogy already!]
ME3 lowest price: $15
If she digs zombies
The Walking Dead
Experience the true horror and emotional impact of being a survivor of the undead apocalypse in a zombie game unlike any other. You will meet people and experience events that will impact the story of Deputy Sheriff Rick Grimes, and you will be forced to make decisions that will have a direct effect on the story that you experience.
If she ships Indie
The Journey Collector’s Edition features all three best-selling games from acclaimed indie developer thatgamecompany, Journey, Flower, and flOw, for one low price. The collection also includes a wealth of exclusive bonus content that fans are sure to love, making this the ultimate edition.
If she likes to kick ass
