This week on the podcast, I return from a week off due to visiting family around Halloween and discuss two major topics that I felt needed covering: Google’s new YouTube Red service and Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns.

With YouTube Red, I don’t have a lot of knowledge about what the future holds for the service, but I share some of my personal observations as well as a few things shared with me by some good friends of mine. I also talk about an interesting letter I received from Google pertaining to the subject. Specifically, the letter dealt with a game I did a Let’s Play of back in 2013 and how its developer had not agreed to the new terms of service and therefore, because the video was claimed for monetization by them, the video would be forced into “Private” mode until a settlement was reached. It all goes back into what I’ve discussed on the show, both solo and with guests, about the age in which we live and how copyright-conscious everything is.

Then, of course, there’s Heart of Thorns, which launched back on October 23. It’s the first real paid-for expansion to Guild Wars 2, and while I’ve only dabbled in some of the things it has to offer so far, I share some of my insight and what I think is the reasoning the devs had for some of the choices they made with the direction of the game.

Anyway, it’s hard to believe the holiday season is almost here. Still, there’s at least a couple good episodes of the season left (maybe more), so don’t run away just yet!

As always, you can subscribe on iTunes or get the RSS from links above, but you can also find the MP3 directly here.
