Relax to some Zelda: Sword of Moria Designing!

By now, you’re most likely not a stranger to my Zelda fan game, Zelda: Sword of Moria, but today I wanted to do something different for you. My good friend Greg (who manages the fantastic site Destroy All Fanboys!) has mentioned to me that it might be fun to do some sort of development blog or at least regular updates and such on the progress of the game, and the thought recently occurred to me that it was possible to do a recording as I work on the game.

Thus, the video above was born!

With this, I wanted to take it in a different direction. Here, I’m focusing on making the video relaxing and just fun to watch. I’ve done away with any narration for it, and instead I just play some gaming music in the background (some of which will be used in the areas shown, some of which is just random), and letting you watch me piece together a few screens of the game. This video won’t show you any scripting or very detailed editing, but you’ll get a nice idea of some of the process of putting a basic screen together.

Here, I focus on the Western Calatia Woods, but if I do more of these, you’ll see other areas begin to come together. 🙂

Let me know what you think of this, and if you like the idea of a Zen Gaming series of videos!

Oh, and don’t forget to subscribe!
