Wow. It’s hard for me to describe this movie. It’s got kung fu, cops, dinosaurs, Hitler, vikings, Thor…I mean, what else do you really need to know?

So the production team, Laser Unicorn, Kickstarted their movie Kung Fury to a ridiculous level of success. They describe it as “an over-the-top action comedy written and directed by David Sandberg. The movie features: arcade-robots, dinosaurs, nazis, vikings, norse gods, mutants and a super kung fu-cop called Kung Fury, all wrapped up in an 80s style action packed adventure.”

My thoughts on the film:

It’s definitely ridiculous. The movie is completely over the top, and none of it makes sense. But that just adds to its charm. It basically takes the 80s action/kung fu movie genre and super-charges it.

I think my favorite parts were the amazingly horrible puns. My favorite was, “You don’t need your spine.” (rips out spine) “It’s only holding you back.” Amazing.

My only regret was that I wish I was drinking while I watched it. When I show it to more of my friends, I’ll definitely be indulging in some rum, and I recommend you do as well. Maybe have a few before you watch it, because the movie isn’t even long enough to get drunk!
