This is the longest of my Illusion of Gaia gameplay videos to date, but it covers a lot of ground. Last time, we left off witnessing the plight of the Native Village before heading to Angkor Wat. Now, we take the time to figure out how to defeat those crazy enemies outside the temple and then explore deep within, solving puzzles and fighting strange monsters, all to reach a spirit that gives us a cure for those that had been turned to stone.
Once things are set right with the natives, we travel deep into the desert and, ultimately, to the Great Pyramid, where Will is introduced to Shadow and solves the riddle within the ancient structure, eventually coming face-to-face with the Jackal and bringing about his death.
Now, all that’s left is to head to the Tower of Babel to confront the Earth’s destiny!
This video marks the finale of Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap, an awesome 1989 Sega Master System game that was ported onto several different platforms. I was forced to save-state abuse a bit at the final fight, but ultimately, it was worth it, and everything wrapped up nicely.
The game holds up well against the flow of time, and it makes me want to play the sequel that was released as Wonder Boy in Monster World for the Sega Genesis!
Thanks for tuning in, and please subscribe to me on YouTube if you don’t yet!
