Read my review of Serenity: Leaves on the Wind #1.
Serenity: Leaves on the Wind #2 is finally here, and it feels like Christmas. Prepare to be on the edge of your seat reading this. It sure is a doozy!
This issue definitely jumps up the level of intensity. Unfortunately, there’s more of Early, but on the bright side, there’s also more Jayne, and with more Jayne comes more threats…to Jayne, that is. He just can’t get certain things through his head. I guess that’s what makes his character the comic relief though. Zoë and the baby’s situation takes a turn, and Mal has to deal with everything all at once. Seems as though he just can’t seem to catch a break!
This issue was even better than the last, in my opinion. Zack Whedon is continuing the story after the movie beautifully. Jayne drives me absolutely crazy sometimes, but I loved him in this issue. I really felt for every character in this issue; Zack messed with my emotions. It’s as if the series were back and I’m being sucked in all over again. That’s just it though; this might not be a TV series anymore, but these comics are doing a gorram good job at dragging me deep into the ‘verse again. In fact, this issue was so good that I even got over the fact that the characters don’t look enough like they did in the series. I’m excited that this issue is on stands already, and I can’t wait to read more!
Please, do yourself a favor and go buy this issue. And if you haven’t read the first one yet, go buy that too. If you don’t like leaving your house for whatever reason, fly on over to the Dark Horse site and order yourself one…or both.
