I’m going to count down to number one on this one. So here goes! The games most anticipated for 2014 and beyond:
6. Watch Dogs
Criminal-turned-good-guy, Aiden is now hunting those who hunt his family. This game actually looks pretty cool. You can interact with almost anything in the city around you. Watch Dogs also has a lot of cool gamer-to-gamer interactions, which is the aspect of PS4 games I am most interested in seeing flourish.
5. Thief
This is one I’m really excited for. You get to be a master thief and lead a revolution – nothing is out of your grasp! Thief will require major sneak skills. This is a next-gen game to really look forward to.
4. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
It’s no question that this game looks gorgeous! However, we’ll have to wait a bit longer for this one. Unfortunately, Dec. 31 is a tentative date used by stores when a game won’t come out until the following year, but developers haven’t told them an exact date yet (this knowledge was brought to you by the years I used to work at GameStop!). So, even though it’s quite a wait, it’ll be well worth it to see this amazing game, and it seems that CD Projekt will really be starting to put the new systems’ graphics to use!
3. Destiny
Do I even need to explain this one? With a gorgeous world to explore, amazing multiplayer options, the addition of customizable female characters, the play-on-the-go features, and everything else, it’s safe to say that Destiny will be one of the biggest games of the year in 2014. (This is probably my personal number two.)
2. The Order 1886
Supernatural thriller, PS4 exclusive, Werewolves, the 1800s – all of my favorite things! I was pretty disappointed when I found out that this game will be pushed to 2015 (yeah, another December 31 “tentative” date), but if they’re making it even better, then I can wait! This will be one of the PlayStation’s best when it comes out, I can feel it! (Also, this is my personal number one, but alas, I was outnumbered)
1. Dragon Age: Inquisition
So, this is the big one, the most anticipated, the one the girls of NBF are biting their nails over, DRAGON AGE! Dragon Age Inquisition promises to be a powerhouse of a game, and beautiful at that. This is the Dragon Age game the fans have been waiting for. Honestly, I’ve only ever tried to play the second one, and I can say that I’m probably one of the only girls here at NBF who isn’t a fan, which is why I was highly outnumbered. However, it really does look indulgent and beautiful. With a huge world to explore and many new features, this might be the Dragon Age to change my mind about the series. Unfortunately, there’s no actual release date yet. The game doesn’t even show up on Amazon as a pre-order yet, nor on GameStop.com. So we’ll have to wait a bit for this one, but it’ll be well worth it.
There you have it, folks! The NBF girls’ most anticipated games of 2014. Please feel free to talk amongst yourselves, or with us, in the comments. We would love to hear what you’re looking forward to.
Personally, I’m looking Forward to Final Fantasy 13 Lightning Returns, which comes out next month. I was not especially happy that the last game ended in a cliffhanger, but I’ve still got enough interest in the series to see how it all ends.
