Erin Condren
Pro: The new Erin Condren Planners of this year offer horizontal, vertical, and hourly formats. The planners come in two color options: neutral and colorful. They’re also offered in 12-month and 18-month formats. They have customizable covers, ranging from flowers to adding your own pictures to the cover, and even personalized coil. You can also buy multiple covers for your planner, that you can use for years to come. *If you do order a customizable cover, shipping will take at least a week longer than ordering a ready-to-go planner. The planners are the everyday life ones, wedding planners, and teacher planners. Erin Condren also has notebooks, journals, numerous accessories like pens, and stickers, even home decor and lunch boxes.
The planners also include affirming quotes for each month, a nice touch. They also include a folder at the end of the planner, and a pouch that is a good place to keep any important items. They also include notecards as a gift. It is more personable, you can add the specific divisions for the days are you need them so you don’t necessarily have to stick to morning, afternoon, and night. This planner is avaialble online and in Staples.
Con: The price. It is $55, and if you choose a specific coil color it is $10 more. Also, if you want to buy more covers then that can add up. There are a lot of codes out there that can help with getting $10 off. If you are serious about planning, this is the planner for you. If not, there is another cheaper, but great option, and that is the Happy Planner.
Happy Planner
Pro: The price, this planner is $30, almost half the price of the Erin Condren. The planner is available online, at Hobby Lobby, and Michael’s. They come in 18-month increments. They are formatted similarly to Erin Condren. At the beginning of each month, there is a page you fill out for the goals of the month, any birthdays, important dates. That is a great touch as it allows you to reflect at the beginning of each month.
Con: The planner is of less quality. I notice that the pages are most likely to rip in the Happy Planner than in the Erin Condren planner. You can’t change the coil colors. They only come in vertical style. There is no folder or pouch at the end of the planner, however you can buy Happy Planners accessories on their website or on Etsy.
Verdict: If you are looking for a high quality planner, go with the Erin Condren, and if you are particular about formatting, go with the Erin Condren. If not, the Happy Planner is worth your buck, and will help you in organizing your life, school, etc. Also, for the accessories, Etsy offers a great variety of them, sometimes for a cheaper price than on their websites.
