The awesome Rob Eubank (@Master_Dex) is back on the podcast to talk about something very near and dear to him – the Metal Gear Solid franchise. Of particular interest, of course, is Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
As Rob admits, he isn’t very far into the game, but that doesn’t mean that he hasn’t spent a lot of time playing it. Rather, he likes to sit back and make the most of his time in a game, and his commentary in this episode certainly reflects that. We talk some about Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and the controversy there, with some people complaining about it being a very expensive “prologue” or “demo,” and we also muse on the future of the franchise. Rob comments that Kojima has said before that he was finished with the series, but as we well know, that doesn’t mean Konami won’t continue it themselves.
Also, I ask Rob about Silent Hills (which was canceled around the time of Kojima’s departure). As noted in the show intro, this project seems to have been revived in spirit with Alice Road (most likely coming in 2016).
