Rob Eubank, recurring guest since season one and co-host of season three, makes his season seven debut on the podcast to talk with me about something I really wanted to know more about: Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. In case you couldn’t guess this based on his previous stints on this podcast, Rob is a big fan of Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid series, and so I wanted to put him to the test by asking him what this new game is all about, why Kojima decided to release a prelude chapter as a stand-alone game, and what he thinks the future of the franchise itself might be.
From there, we segue a little bit into a talk about Miyamoto and his exit from the Super Mario universe, and whether Kojima may eventually decide to do something similar. Rob also brings up P.T. (or Playable Teaser), which was a funny little stunt Kojima pulled where we got a taste for the upcoming Silent Hills game. Rob also mentions a game called Star Citizen very briefly, in case that’s a topic that interests you.
