“Some advice, kid. Don’t ever mistake bravery for good sense.”
Previously on Gotham, we met Harvey Dent, Bruce and Selina were really cute, and Barbara and Renee have gotten back together – unbeknownst to Jim! And a bunch of crime family stuff that I can never keep track of.
Bruce and Selina’s relationship continues to be achingly cute. A woman breaks into Wayne manor at the beginning in search of either Selina or Bruce, using the ruse that she just got into a car accident, and Alfred KICKS HER ASS. It’s awesome. Every week I fall more in love with this portrayal of Alfred – he’s probably the most badass, cool, well-rounded version of the character I’ve ever seen. Oswald continues to be a most slippery man, and Robin Lord Taylor is so fun to watch every week. The crime family stuff continues to be the least interesting part of the show, for me anyway. Fish and Oswald are fun, but pretty much everyone else is interchangeable. I absolutely LOVED seeing Ivy come back – I was just talking with a friend the other day about how we haven’t seen her since the first episode, and it seemed weird. I love that as the show goes on, we’re seeing more of the man Bruce will grow up to be, without making him grow up too fast either. Tonight’s episode ends on a rather ominous note, and I’m not sure when the next episode even airs! Ahhhh.
Watch Gotham Mondays at 8pm on FOX.
