When I heard the news yesterday that a Baldur’s Gate comic was being created, I shrieked with joy. Baldur’s Gate II is my favorite game of all time, and I’ve missed the world ever since. Jim Zub is writing the comic, which will center on everyone’s favorite team, Minsc and Boo. The full title is Dungeons & Dragons: Legends of Baldur’s Gate, and the comic will be put out by IDW Publishing. Max Dunbar is doing the interior art and the variant covers, and Sarah Stone is creating the standard covers. I really hope that many more Baldur’s Gate comics will follow this mini-series; there are so many characters and stories to explore! Official summary:
“The legends of the past still resonate with the modern heroes of Baldur’s Gate, and when a new threat rises, an unlikely trio takes upon themselves the mantle of heroes! Launching alongside Wizards of the Coast’s next edition of the Dungeons & Dragons tabletop RPG, the new series will feature both familiar and new characters—including the return of the fan-favorite ranger, Minsc—and his hamster, Boo!”
Look for D&D: Legends of Baldur’s Gate starting October 15th of this year! I’ll be getting all of them. You can read an in-depth interview with Jim Zub here.
