No really, they are. Because once you read this, you’ll be hooked. Then, there will be nothing you can do to stop yourself from getting every issue that follows.
I don’t care what kind of fan you are: horror, fantasy, traditional superhero…whether you’re a crime noir fan or not, this is one of the best damn comics you’ll read. It’s filled with blood, pain, loss, and deals with the devil. FBI agent Sarah Anderson is one tough chick. I admire this character a lot; she has guts and won’t take no for an answer. All of the characters, including the White Suits, will draw you in. It’s one illustrious comic.
In issue #2, we have Russians to fight…Russians? There’s also crime-fighting-crime, but I’d argue that for the greater good, you gotta be a little bad sometimes. With Russian mercs, the White Suits, a US senator, a no-nonsense FBI agent, and New York’s organized crime, this is bound to be one hell of a bloodbath, and Barberie is one hell of a writer.
My favorite thing about this series is the art. Everything about it is beautiful. The stylized spot coloring is some of the best work I’ve seen. The sketchy lines, the faces — everything. Toby Cypress has easily become one of my new favorite artists.
