Some of you may know that in addition to running my own site, Allahweh’s Domain, and helping out here at Nerdy but Flirty, I also serve as editor at the site Anjel Syndicate, among other things. In fact, I’ve been writing for them since they opened their doors back in January of 2011. And anyone who has been following the site here might have seen my recent article regarding copyright laws and the like and concerns that AS had regarding them.
Well, David Slauenwhite, owner of Anjel Syndicate, after a lot of talk, made the decision that the site needs to be very careful regarding what it posts in terms of copyrighted material. Since AS is a new-ish and growing site, the last thing he wanted was to somehow get caught up in a copyright snafu over a video produced for the site. So, as much as they like the content I’ve done, rather than have to systematically pick and choose what gets shown and what doesn’t, it looks like for a while the site will be “going dark” with that kind of material.
It sucks, sure, but I did write a long post regarding it over on their site.
Long story short, though: you will not find any limitations set by me over at my main page, and you shouldn’t find any limits here at Nerdy but Flirty or any other site affiliates. Still, I do respect the decision that AS has made, and I only hope in time that such copyright scares aren’t something that keep people worried.
Still, I am curious to hear your thoughts on this topic!
With havin so much content do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright infringement?
My site has a lot of exclusive content I’ve either authored myself or outsourced but it appears a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my agreement. Do you know any solutions to help protect against content from being ripped off? I’d definitely
appreciate it.
Hi would you mind stating which blog platform you’re working with? I’m going to start my own blog soon but I’m having a tough time choosing between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique.
P.S My apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!
