This is the fourth episode of The Retro Play Show, recorded live on June 5, 2013.
This episode focuses on the Sega Master System version of Sonic the Hedgehog, released in 1991. Technically, this game is the same as the Sega Game-Gear version, except it plays on the big screen. It is different from its 16-bit counterpart, but it really offers some fun platforming that isn’t present in its sequel, in my opinion, and is arguably on par with, if not more fun than, the Genesis game.
