Yesterday was the first round of the Los Angeles Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Tournament. The games included Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition, Street Fighter X Tekken
, and Street Fighter II Turbo
.
This tournament marks the last chance for fighters to attend a qualifying tournament in the U.S. before the Grand Finals in San Francisco in December. Big names making an appearance were Pyrolee, Mester, Gootechs, Mike Ross, EGIPR Balrog, and Justin Wong. Here’s a link to the brackets so far.
Be sure to tune in today, as Capcom is live streaming the event on Twitch. The Street Fighter X Tekken winner will be handed the keys to an all-new custom Street Fighter-themed Scion FR-S Sports Coupe, complete with video entertainment hardware from SCEA and a modified exterior from Five Axis including a custom FIVE:AD aero kit, spoiler, and wheels.
Do you think it’s going to hurt the tournament at all that many gamers are participating in the Extra Life Gaming Marathon this weekend?
