It’s hardly a surprise that BioWare is working on the third installment of the Dragon Age series, but it’s still nice to have things be all official.
Not much was revealed today, but here’s what we now know for sure about Dragon Age III:
- Subtitled “Inquisition”
- Being made by many of the same people who worked on Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II
- Will use a new engine, based on DICE’s Frostbite 2 (best known as the base of Battlefield 3)
- Promises more customization options, including armor and followers
There’s also a mention of “more expansive worlds,” which hopefully means more variety in the environments than Dragon Age II had.
Sarah The Rebel’s thoughts:
I’m excited that they are giving it a title beyond Dragon Age III and, as an active and rabid BioWare fan, I have noticed that they really do pay attention to what we say about the game, so I am going to reserve judgement for now and wait to see what they can tell us about the story.
What do you want to see in Dragon Age III?

I can’t wait to send buildings crashing down by hitting them repeatedly with a claymore. WATCH OUT THAT MABARI HOUND IS GOING TO TAKE DOWN THAT WALL.
