With so many big-name releases this year (especially Borderlands 2), Happy Wars wasn’t even on my radar. But lately it’s been getting a lot of buzz, so I had to find out more, and the details are intriguing.

XBLA exclusive, thirty players at a time, and free for Xbox Live Gold members. Like most free-to-play games, Happy Wars will be selling items in-game, but none of them are required to play. Check out the newly-released trailer for a taste of the frantic action:

I still have some unanswered questions (mostly I want to know if any achievements will require a purchase), but I also hope the game is wildly successful so that more companies will give us Gold members free games. Yes, I am jealous of PSN+ subscribers.

Happy Wars is set to release sometime this fall.
