I am a 21-year-old 2015 college graduate of Westfield State University. My degree is in English with a concentration in writing. Online, I am known as Phantomess. I discovered video games four years ago as an outlet for everything that was going on in my life, especially moving away from home to live at college. The games I play on a regular basis are: League of Legends, Diablo 3, Skyrim, Tomb Raider, The Sims, and Portal. In the past, I have enjoyed games such as World of Warcraft and Hearthstone. I’m geared a lot more towards MMORPGs and MOBAs rather than single player games; however, I’m always looking to try new things.

Since developing a love for games, I began to write and edit my own personal blog. My blog deals with contemporary issues in video game and pop culture, including none other than the #Gamergate controversy. In April, I presented my “Gender Representation and Hyper-Masculinity in Video Games” paper at the state-wide UMASS Undergraduate Conference. I’m incredibly excited to join the Nerdy But Flirty team. My goal for the future is to become a video game writer or to write critically about video games. I am still working to find a full-time content writing or editing job.
