Being an all-around geek, I love the YouTube channel Geek & Sundry. My favorite show on the channel is TableTop. It’s hosted by Wil Wheaton, and every Thursday he and his friends play a different board game. In the process, they teach the viewers how to play. Also, it’s hysterical.

I also love Sean Day[9] Plott, of StarCraft fame. He used to play competitively, and now he shoutcasts professional matches and makes daily strategy videos. His personality is amazing, and no matter what he’s talking about, he always manages to be enjoyable. I enjoy pretty much everything he does, and I don’t even play StarCraft!

So when I heard that Geek & Sundry was coming out with a new show called Spellslingers, in which Sean Plott plays Magic: The Gathering with friends, I freaked out. I’m so super excited for the show. And the best thing is it starts today at 1PM EST/10PM PST!

The premiere is Sean versus Rob Simpson, another StarCraft caster. The other guests include Grant Imahara (Mythbusters), Bobak Ferdowski (NASA mohawk guy), and Felicia Day (Buffy, Dr. Horrible, The Guild, creator of Geek & Sundry). Like TableTop, Spellslingers will showcase a myriad of the latest cards, and will help players learn how to play the game.

Personally, I’m the most excited for the faces that Sean will make if he’s losing.
