This official teaser trailer for Hellraid came out last week, and I got excited but forgot to tell you. I apologize.

So, what’s this game all about?

Hellraid is a first-person co-op slasher that offers a single-player, story-driven campaign of hack ‘n’ slash action and unique, competitive cooperation multiplayer that pits four players against the armies of hell – and each other – in a battle for points, rewards, and fame.

Some people are saying that it looks like Skyrim, but given that it is a hack ‘n’ slash, I’m willing to bet that there are far fewer RPG elements and a much more visceral fighting feel. Other people are comparing it to Chivalry, but I think that’s because people can’t remember the other first person hack ‘n’ slash sword games. Like…Hexa…Hexi-something. And, uhhh, that one I used to play in the arcades. 😛

Kidding aside, I’m actually pretty interested in this game and hope to check it out soon! Hellraid is developed by Techland and scheduled for a 2013 release on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
