From the director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz comes the next irreverant film featuring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost: The World’s End!
If you don’t recognize Pegg from SotD or Hot Fuzz, you may have seen him as Scotty in Star Trek or know him as the voice of Reepicheep in Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Joining the iconic duo is Martin Freeman, known for playing Arthur Dent in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit.
The World’s End hits movie theaters July 19th, and I can’t WAAAAIT. Hot Fuzz is one of my favorite movies, and Shaun of the Dead gave my friends and I our catch phrase: “By the Power of GreySkull.”
Plot
Twenty years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King (Simon Pegg), a 40-year-old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub – The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.
