Next September, we may finally have the fabled next movie in the Chronicles of Riddick series. Universal Pictures has announced that Riddick will be opening in theaters and IMAX on September 6, 2013.
Please hold for my squee of joy: SQUEEEEEE!
Now, I know a lot of people hated Chronicles of Riddick, wishing it was more like Pitch Black. Personally, I didn’t have a problem with the movie, and found it to be a pretty fun ride. The ending was sad, but that fit the theme of Riddick’s life and so worked perfectly for me. I can see how people would be disappointed though, since the movies were very different. But don’t let that stop you from getting excited about the next one!
Synopsis
The infamous Riddick (Vin Diesel) has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.
The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy.
I hope they have more hot, steamy, hubris-filled romance from the first two movies. ‘Cuz say what you want about Diesel, he has chemistry with his female L.I.s in ALL of his movies.
Are you going to give Riddick another chance?

Well; since Pitch Black was a morality play about the nature of good and evil, and Riddick was the same about organized religion and cultism,I cannot wait to see what this one is about!
lol yall noticed some deep stuff… I was busy watchin Riddick kill things. Maybe I shouldn’t review any movies xD
Nah, the first five or ten times I watched ’em, it was all about Riddick and killin’ things. It was later that stuff started getting deep. And also beer…
Ooooh absolutely LOVE Riddick! The last movie really made me think that he had some commentary on organized religion, I thought it was great. I can’t wait for this one!
Yay! I’m not the only one!
