So, it’s development hell Monday, and that means it’s time to talk about a video game movie.
World of Warcraft, the gigantic MMORPG that shows no signs of stopping, has long been expected to cross over into the film world. And now, according to David Radd, Legendary Entertainment has hired Charles Leavitt, whose film credits include Blood Diamond and Legendary’s own upcoming movie, The Seventh Son, to write the newest draft of the script.
Still no word on a director, since Sam Raimi acknowledged he was no longer filling that role during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con promoting his latest film Oz: The Great and Powerful.
Video game movies are usually known to be out-and-out suckfests, but maybe Legendary Entertainment will have what it takes to save World of Warcraft from the jaws of failure.
What do you think?
