That’s how I’m feeling right now.
I am only an hour into the game, and I am not having any fun. In fact, if this were anything but a Dragon Age sequel, I would have turned it off and traded it in.
But!
I have hope. I am hoping that things will get on track now that I have arrived in Kirkwall. I am hoping for some great character interaction (and not those cheesy, stale conversations so far). I have hope that Bioware didn’t drain its team of creativity when it came to story, putting it all into DA:O and having nothing left.
But most of all, I have hope that this *@#^%$ %$^*(& will stop freezing!
LOL, end of rant.
Look out for a full review eventually, as I am heading to the islands for Spring Break and probably won’t finish the game before I leave.
Improvement? Methinks not. They look like puttymen!
Nerdy But Flirty 
Bummer! I’m just gonna continue to stay away from DA2 for awhile.
Well actually I’m about to update it and say it’s not so bad. I am not around 10 hours in and I am enjoying it more. I think what may color my feelings about the game is the same problem I am realizing I have with Mass Effect: I just dont feel like i’m that main character. In DA:O, there were such detailed choices and I knew exactly what my character was saying because I read it and picked it. In ME2 and DA2, the character doesnt have my voice and doesnt say things I would say. So anyhoo, all this to say take my anger with a grain of salt. 🙂
I felt the same way. For a while, I was really wondering if I had just wasted $60 on a game that was going to be completely flat.
Have hope! Things *finally* started picking up and getting interesting as I was doing quests in and around Kirkwall. By then, it was 1:00 am and I had to turn things off for the night. But it really felt like it was finally hitting stride.
We’ll see. I do have some issues. Some of them fairly major for a title such as this. But I’m holding off on my “first impressions” for now.
Well that all sounds disappointing…i’m waiting for it to come in the mail.
I now have to agree with fazor3d… in Kirkwall things are picking up. Let us not lose hope!! Conversations are still cheesy but the sight of all these cameos from the other games and DLC cheered me up. Some of them are just so surprising
